Referees are invited to join our dedicated Facebook page for tournament referees by clicking here.

Applications are now being taken from qualified officials interested in taking part in the 2012 running of the Foyle Cup. We welcome applications from any referees globally who are 16 years old and above, male or female.  Younger referees who are local (we can provide accomodation for anyone under age of 16 as we have no designated group leader for referees) can often be accomodated in younger age groups and parental permission is required for any referees participating who are under 18 years of age.

At this stage we are gathering names of people who will be available.  Once we know the final number of entrants we will then select a panel which will comprise of a mixture of experienced referees combined with those starting out on referee career who can benefit from experience of tournament football.  In the event we are over subscribed we intend to get back to everyone as quickly as possible.

Please note that we will require any referees from outside Northern Ireland to be vetted.  We will contact your home referee association to check your current level, ask for permission for you to travel across and for child protection vetting.  A place will be held until all relevant information is sent across.

A nominal match fee is paid to cover expenses.  In 2011 it was £10 per game irrespective of whether officials was referee or assistant.  For mini soccer £6 per game was paid.  An additional 'per day' allowance of £6 was paid to cover incidental costs.
